Who Mike Hsu is and who Mike Hsu is not
Low-key, high quality rock DJ from Metrowest delivers when it comes to bitchin' tunes in the Bay State. No frills. No garbage. No f-f-f-foolin' around. Hsu blesses the airwaves with rock, the way it was always meant to be.
We are most certainly not looking for Mike Hsu, the University of Chicago and Carnegie Mellon University educated Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Nor do we want Acquisitions Director Mike Hsu of Boston's Beacon Capital Partners. No.
No, we want the Vice President of BBQ runs to B.T.'s Smokehouse, not the ex Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Kraft Foods.
We want the "metal health will drive you mad" Mike Hsu.
We want the long-time WAAF DJ who scarfed down all-arounds at Casey's Diner and shot the breeze with Lou down at Corrado's in Natick, Mike Hsu.
We want the Morning Show hosting, Podcast making, North Adams State attending, Classic Rock slinging rock station Disc Jockey who owned the airwaves that covered the 508 for years on the Greg Hill Morning Show and beyond, Mike Hsu.
That's who we are looking for. The guy who is slaying it on Worcester's 100 FM The Pike (along with WAAF vet Mistress Carrie). The guy who rode the WAAF all the way to the absolute very end with outstanding dignity and honor. The long-term Rush fan, the now Worcester native, the 10-year radio vet who returned home because he, “... grew up listening to ’AAF ... My dream was to come back and work at a radio station in Boston.”
So Mike, if you're listening ... if you ever want to talk about hair metal at length, we're there for you.
If you ever want to discuss Mike Slamer doing the solos for Warrant albums, we're there for you. If you ever want to discuss how underrated Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch of Tesla were, we're there for you.
If you ever want to discuss the significance of Ugly Kid Joe's Everything About You, especially how it sits at the absolute balanced midpoint of Hair Metal and 90s grunge, we're there for you.
If you ever just want us to pick up some spicy chicken sandwiches and drop them off at the station, we're there for you too.
